One of the most important items soldiers have is their kit and gear. The equipment a soldier has provides them with both defense and offense because it includes weapons and armor. It includes food, water, a compass, first aid, and more. The modern soldier kit’s load average weight is more than 68 pounds and during combat skyrockets to over 130 pounds. But the kit is vital to survival. Soldiers rely on their kits in battle.
Soldiers for Christ have their own kit. Paul tells us to take up the whole kit – our full armor – to be able to stand against the Devil and his minions in battle. He tells us we fight against:
🪖 The Devil.
🪖 His Principalities.
🪖 His Powers.
🪖 Princes of Darkness of this age.
🪖The Spiritual Hosts of Wickedness in the Heavenly Places.
That’s a scary list of opponents and enemies that God expects us to fight against for Him. But He doesn’t expect us to go to battle with these forces without giving us gear made and approved and perfected in Heaven.
God’s armor will enable us to stand against the Devil every day. It should give us the confidence to stand daily – even though the days are evil.
For the next several days, we are going to do a deep dive into the full armor of God to find out what God had given us for a spiritual military kit. It’s a lot and sometimes may feel heavy to carry but it is vital to our survival in the spiritual war we fight in for God.
