Satan is a liar. He whispers lies to you incessantly. Cruel lies. Soft-spoken lies. Seemingly harmless lies. Truth-like lies.
He lies to you about God (Genesis 3).
He lies to you about your struggles/weaknesses (II Cor. 12: 7).
He lies to you about your heartaches and the unfairness of life (Job).
He lies to you about sin (1 John 3:8).
He lies to you about secrets (II Samuel 11).
He lies to you about how God views worship (Lev. 10: 1 – 7).
He lies to you about God’s expectations for obedience (I Samual 15: 13 – 23).
He lies to you about others (1 Kings 18:22).
He lies to you about money (Acts 5: 1 – 11).
He lies to you about himself (John 10:10).
The list goes on and on and on and on and on (Like the Lamp Chop song – it never ends). Satan is like a broken record or a cd that keeps skipping and repeating the same song over and over again. He will never stop lying to you. It is who he is. A liar.
He lies to you through your enemies.
He lies to you through your friends.
He lies to you with outright falsehoods.
He lies to you misrepresenting facts.
He lies to you by omitting important details.
He lies to you by twisting God’s word.
His tactics are endless and clever. Paul calls him wily. Peter calls him a starving stalking lion. John calls him the great ancient deceiver – the one who has deceived the whole world.
So, how do we see through his lies? How do we fight him off?
With truth.
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” John 8:32
Who’s truth then? Mine? Nope. Your’s? Nope.
God’s truth. “Sanctify them by thy Word, oh Lord, thy Word is Truth.” John 17:17
We fight his lies with the most powerful weapon we have. The Sword of God (Hebrews 4:12 & Ephesians 6:17).
God will never lie to you (Hebrews 6:18).
He is the only true God (John 17:3).
His word is the sum of all truth (Psalm 119:160).
God sent His only son – Jesus – to save you from the lies of the Devil. We can only get to God through Jesus. Jesus is upfront about this – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
Only through Jesus can you truly be free of the shackles of Satan’s lies. For every lie he tells you, God has already told you the truth about it. So, whatever he is lying to you about. Fight him off with God’s truth.
Satan wants to break you. God wants to shape you. The Devil knows it and he fears the person God can shape you into. And that’s why he lies to you.
Don’t be blinded by Satan’s lies. Only God and Jesus can show you the real truth and help you truly see.
“One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25)
Very well said.
He always seems to know when we are weak.

And Graig Rice reads what you write bc he make a comment before I left with Devin in October about how good what you write is. Just thought I would share that piece of encouraging news. Love you, Mommason
