Do Not Be Ignorant

Before we delve into the various masks Satan uses to entrap the faith, we must be very frank about who the Devil is and what tactics he uses. So, for the next, few days we will expose who is actually inviting you to his masquerade ball.

Paul makes this statement of Satan in his letter to Corith:

Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,  so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. – II Cor. 2:10 – 12 (ESV)

The NKJV translates the bolded section lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

In this part of his letter to the Corinthians, Paul emphasizes the importance of forgiving each other and the dangers of harboring unforgiveness, dwelling in bitterness, holding on to resentment, holding on to a grudge, or keeping a record of wrongs. It is in this discussion that Paul makes the statement: lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Let’s make two simple observations here:

🎭 Satan actively tries to outwit, take advantage of, and exploit us. He will use whatever tool, design, or device he has in his arsenal to entrap your soul.

🎭 We do not have to be ignorant of the masks the Devil uses. We can unmask him.

So, make no mistake—Satan’s ultimate goal is to keep you from reconciling with God, but he will never reveal his true intentions. Instead, he lures you with the illusion of a grand celebration – his Grand Masquerade Ball, only to ensnare your soul in the flames of hell with him for eternity.

But God has not left us defenseless—He wants us to be aware, not unaware. He has revealed Satan’s true nature as the father of lies and has warned us of the enemy’s schemes. Every trick, every deception, every mask Satan wears has already been exposed by God. We just need to recognize them. #SinsGreatMasquerade
