Remembered Forever

Since we are human, we forget. We forget people. We forget events. We forget memories. We forget insignificant things. We forget significant things. It is just the nature of the humanity beast. I think it is for this very reason that the Scriptures are full of the idea of remembering. God tells us to remember things because He knows we are but human. And we ask God to remember things because we can’t imagine not forgetting anything.

One of God’s amazing traits is He can choose to remember forever or forget forever. It is truly amazing. The things I want to forget I never can and the things I want to hold on to forever seem to fade into the mists of my mind. But that never happens to God. He perfectly remembers forever everything He chooses and He completely forgets everything He chooses.

This is precisely one of the traits of God the Psalmist praises in Psalm 112.

For the righteous will never be moved;
    he will be remembered forever.

If we live a righteous life and follow God, God will remember us forever. We will never be forgotten. So, while people may forget you and this world will certainly forget you as the years pass, if you stay true to God – He will never forget you. #Remember
