Running is hard work. It takes commitment. It takes discipline. It takes courage to keep going. But the rewards in running are amazing. The physical benefits are only out done by the mental/emotional benefits. You become stronger both physically and mentally. Every run has its challenges. But it takes courage to take in each run because of those challenges. Courage to start. Courage to keep going. Courage to know when to stop or rest. But every time you take in a new challenge you become stronger and you are rewarded!
Azariah told King Asa the same thing about Asa’s attempts to return Israel to true worship. Asa was trying to remove the idols and stop idolatry in Israel but it had been going on for so long the people were angry and resisted. So God through Azariah told King Asa to take courage. Keep working. You will be rewarded for your hard work.
It is easier to quit running our spiritual race when things get hard or doubts arise. It can be a challenge to keep running toward God during those times. God is a spiritual being and we still live here on this physical earth. We don’t see and interact with God the same way we do humans. So when things get hard it’s easy to just decide He isn’t really there or the this spiritual run isn’t really worth all the hassle.
During those times remember what Azariah told Asa! Take courage! Keep going! Don’t become weak! For all your hard work in this life shall be rewarded in the next. Push through the challenges of this life so you can receive your reward from God in the next! #runningtherace
