When you’re running sometimes you just need help. In organized races, the help comes from aid stations. These stations have water, Gatorade, first aid, fuel, and sometimes even muscle cramp and pain relief. Marathons are a long way and a lot can happen to you during those 26.2 miles. So, it is important to know where the aid stations are, how often they come up in the run, and what’s at each station. The organizers of the run want you to finish and they realize the race is long and hard. So, they set up aid stations to give you some relief during the race.
Paul tells us God does the exact same for us on our spiritual run. He knows this race is long and hard. He knows the Devil is out there trying to trip us up and discourage us. He knows we’ll struggle in our spiritual marathon because it is such a hard race. Because He knows that and because He loves us and is faithful, He provides aid stations for us along the way.
God wants us to successfully run the race.
👟 He provides a way of escape from every temptation we face.
👟 He does not allow us to be tempted beyond want we can handle.
👟 He helps us endure the hard times.
God will never leave you high and dry during your spiritual marathon. He will give you aid.
But just like runners in a physical race who choose if they are going to use the aid stations or not – the choice to stop and use God’s aid station is yours’. You can either accept God’s help or not. But, finishing the race is predicated on your choice.
So, ust like physical marathoners – even elite runners – know they must use the aid stations to finish the race, spiritual runners will only finish the race if they use accept God’s aid.
Don’t be a stubborn, foolish, arrogant runner who refuses to accept God’s help. Let God help you when the race gets hard. He wants you to succeed. He wants to help you when things get hard or when the Devil has attacked you. He has set up endless aid stations just to help you. All you have to do is use them. #runningtherace
