You will only grow what you plant. A gardener can’t want to grow roses and plant lilies, hoping to get roses. You can’t plant tomatoes hoping to grow blueberries. It just won’t happen.
This principle is true in our lives. Paul tells us God is not mocked, so we shouldn’t be deceived. We will only reap what we plant. There is no other way. God did not create an illogical formula, nor would He allow someone to live one way and get the results of different life choices. So, what does this mean?
🧑🌾 We can’t live a life of wickedness and expect a godly reward.
🧑🌾 We can’t live a merciless life and expect mercy in this life or the next.
🧑🌾 We can’t live a self-centered life and expect others to want to be an active part in our one-man play.
🧑🌾 We can’t be unforgiving but expect God and others to forgive us.
🧑🌾 We can’t be unkind and expect kindness.
🧑🌾 We can’t be lazy or cut corners and expect stellar results.
🧑🌾 We can’t be shallow and expect deep and meaningful relationships.
🧑🌾 We can’t be greedy and stingy and expect others to be generous toward us.
🧑🌾 We can’t be unfriendly and expect to have friends.
🧑🌾 We can’t be unloving and expect love in return.
The list can go on and on and on. God will not be mocked. You will only get what you plant – it is the nature of life. And even if you avoid the reaping in this life and you think you’ve gamed God’s system, you have not. You will not avoid the reaping of your choices and actions in judgment.
Are you sowing seeds you want to actually reap? Or, are you sowing seeds that in the end you will only regret? There is no middle ground here.
So, be careful what you sow and do not be deceived by the Devil. God will not be mocked – you will reap what you sow – in this life and in the next. #lessonsfromthemastergardener
