Gardening is all about timing and decisions – when to plant and when to prune. Sometimes a plant may look dead but it is only dormant other times a plant may look fine above the ground for a bit but have root rot underneath the service. You’ve got to know when to plant vegetables and fruits in order to get the best results. The list goes on and on.
God tells us through Solomon that life is just like that. There is a time to plant aka a time to begin new things and there is a time to pluck or pull up your plants aka a time to end things.
Life is full of beginnings. It may be a new job, moving to a new place, a new relationship, a new opportunity, or evening teaching the gospel to a new person. But life is also full of endings. It may be the end of a relationship, the end of a job, the end of a hope to dream, the end of an opportunity, the end of your health, the end of life, and even the end of trying to teach someone the gospel.
In this life, we have to learn to embrace both beginnings and ends. We have to understand that they will always come and it’s how we handle them that will dictate much of the outcome. We have to have the right attitude toward beginnings and ends. We must try to understand and see that all endings are just new beginnings. Even life itself – it begins and it ends. But the end of our life here is just the beginning to our eternal life.
Everything has a time – a beginning and an end. Our choices and attitudes toward those beginnings and ends are what really matter.
🧑🌾 If it’s a beginning, turn to God for advice and guidance.
🧑🌾 If it’s an ending, turn to God for comfort and wisdom.
Don’t try to handle beginnings and ends on your own. Let God help you navigate this life.
And remember, all ends are just new beginnings. #lessonsfromthemastergardener
