Godly Love

We’ve come to the end of February. We’ve spent this month delving into the true nature of God’s love and how His love should teach us to love. We’ve explored the traits of godly love. And, examined who God expects us to love.

Ultimately, trying to live a life that is first and foremost led by godly love is difficult. It requires us to put ourselves below God and others.

Toward God love requires humility, obedience, and sacrifice. It is to be unwavering and deep. It is patient and steadfast. It prioritizes God. It loves God’s laws. It controls ourlives. It compels us and motivates us to action.

Toward others love requires patience. It requires sacrifice. It requires continual grace and mercy. It requires service. It requires thinking and hoping the best. It requires us to take off any prejudicial lens which we may have toward others. It requires forgiveness. It requires honesty. It requires sincerity. It requires kindness. It requires consistency. It is trustworthy.

This type of love is not just for our friends and family. It is for strangers. It is for our enemies.

Godly love should the source of all of our life actions and all of our motives. Everything we do we must do in love for others. Why? Because we love God because He first loved us.

Love God. Love Others. And in so doing you will fulfill the commandments of God. #LoveActs #GodlyLove
