So, we are learning to love like God. We’ve explored God’s love and how His love traits should influence ours. We’ve examined how His love should motivate us to love and obey Him. And, learned that God’s love should motivate us to love others – to pay God’s love forward. So, who is my neighbor and what does loving my neighbor really mean? These are the questions we will dive into the second half of the month.
Paul tells us that love does no wrong to a neighbor. It does nothing that wrongs another and by loving our neighbors this way we fulfill God’s law.
Love does no wrong. It does not actively seek to wrong and it actively tries to not accidently wrong a neighbor. This means no matter how annoying they are and no matter how much they’ve wronged you – you do not retaliate. You answer those wrongs and frustrations with love.
God love shines through us when we love our neighbors this way – when we don’t retaliate but instead give soft answers and kind responses.
So, how does Godly love interact with neighbors (people we run into during the day or our co workers or people on the store or on the road) – it does NO wrong! #LoveActs
