God’s immeasurable and active love should motivate us. We learned yesterdayy it should first motivate us to love, serve, and obey God. But, God’s love should also motivate us to love others as He loves us.
When we truly understand how much and for how long God loves you, you shouldn’t want to keep that kind of love hidden! You should want others to find it too. The best way to help others find God’s love is to love them thr way God loves us. Then, they will see God’s love through us and search out what is truly motivating our love. Loving others shows God’s love and helps bring people to God by experiencing it.
Our love for others should mirror God’s love for us. This means our love…
❤️ Forgives.
❤️ Endures.
❤️ Is patient.
❤️ Given without returns.
❤️ Extended even to our enemies & the ungodly.
❤️ Is merciful.
❤️ Hopes for the best.
❤️ Is selfless.
❤️ Sacrifices.
❤️ Is kind.
❤️ Is humble.
❤️ Serves.
Later in his later John states it plainly:
If we say we love God, but hate our brother, then we are a liar. Anyone who cannot to love their neighbor, cannot love God! Why? Because we see our neighbors – when interact with others – every day. If we can’t figure out how to love our neighbors who we see daily, then we cannot love God whom we have not even seen.
Loving others isn’t an option. It is a command.
Our love for others also shows us if we truly love God. If we don’t love others, we don’t really love God.
Why is this true? Because once we realize truly God’s love for us, it should motivate us to help others find it. To do that, we must show God’s love in our life.
So, how does love act?
Godly love loves others! #LoveActs
