The propher Zephaniah while prophesying about Israel’s restoration and deliverance from captivity tells thr Israelites not to grow weary and tired because God would deliver them. He proclaims to them:
The Lord your GOD is in to your midst, He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you by His love! (Zephaniah 3)
God’s was with them still and they would see their deliverance. When it came God was going to rejoice with them and they would be so moved by the demonstration God’s love they would become silent. It would be awe inspiring.
God’s love worked and worked for the Israelites. God’s love ran deeper than anything they had ever known – something that became incredibly clear after years and years of captivity. God’s love delivered them repeatedly from captivity. God’s love never left them – it was always in their midst. God’s love saved them. And once they were restored to Jerusalem and could see the mightiness of God’s salvation – the profoundness of His love would silence them.
We are to love God and others with that kind of love. Our love should always be working. Our love should never abandon God and others especially during hard times. Our love should always be present. And the depth of our love for God and other’s should be so deep it moves people to silence.
God loves deeply and profoundly. His love is never just for show or surface level. If we are love like God loves, then our love cannot be superficial love. It must be deep and profound. Constantly working. Always present. And mighty in action.
Learn to love like God loves…profoundly. #LearnToLove
