We use the word great a lot. We use it so much that its true meaning has become diluted. It’s become a general word to symbolic of our approval. We say “That’s great” or “We had a great time” or “Great, I’ll see you later.” But its really meaning is “remarkable in magnitude, degree, or effectiveness” or “large in number/ size or immeasureable.”
This is the kind of love God loves us with – great love. It so great that He did the unthinkable – sent His only son Jesus to die in our place because of our sins. It is so great He makes us alive in through Jesus. God’s love is immeasureable and it motives Him to do remarkable things for us.
This is the type of love we should have – great love. Our love for God and for others should be immeasurable. It should motive us to do remarkable and unimaginable things for God and for others. A great love is the catalyst for a life of obedience, humility, submission, and service.
We must learn and we must try to develop great love. And not the modern use of great but true greatness. We should not keep our love small and exclusive but instead work every day to expand, grow, and share our love.
If we are to love like God loves, then we must love greatly – our love should be remarkably immeasurable. #LearnToLove #LoveLikeGod
