We are not called to go along with the crowd.
We are not called to blend in.

We are called to be transformed.

Paul tells us that we should not be conformed to this world but instead transform ourselves by the renewing of our minds in Scripture so we can present ourselves a living sacrifice to God.

This means should shouldn’t just adopt cultural changes as they come and go if their ungodly.

This means we shouldn’t watch, wear, speak, listen to, read, or engage in activities that are ungodly just because everyone else is doing them.

Why is this transformation so important? 2 big reasons:

‼️ Because we will only be able to present ourselves as a living holy sacrifice to God if it has taken place. If we are sullied by the world and world living then we our sacrifice will not be accepted. This is so important It’s one we all must truly remember. We cannot be like the world and then give then try to present worldly version of ourselves to God. He will not accept it. It’s hard for sure. I struggle with it all the time – making sure I am actually not part of this world. I am not perfect with my struggles either BUT thanks to Jesus God knows I am TRYING DAILY to be the living holy sacrifice He wants.

‼️ Being transformed is also so important because it is the only way we will be able to tell others about Jesus. We just live a life that is godly and one not conformed to the world. Otherwise, when we tell others about Christ but then they look at our lives – they see the hypocritical disconnect and say “no thanks.” How can others asked us about why our lives and our approach to life is so different if it in fact is not different at all? Newsflash: They won’t. We cannot be part of the crowd. We must stand out so others can truly see Christ living in us.

Being transformed is a daily process which is why Paul says it takes place by the renewal of your mind in God’s world. Some days or times in your life you won’t be perfect but you must keep trying every day to be transformed. It’s hard work and a constant struggle but it is the only way to present yourself to God and be pleasing to Him.

Don’t go along with the crowd.
Let the world see Jesus in your life.
Be transformed.
