For the last few days we’ve examined what some of our purposes here on earth are – we are to be God’s ambassador – to defend His message – and to fight for our faith. So, how do we do that? Well, there as we’ve discussed there are lots of ways to do that BUT there is one method that is paramount to living those callings – preaching the word of God.
Paul tells us in Romans that our faith comes from hearing God’s word and he tells us in Galatians that hearing the faith of others is what brings people to their own faith (Romans 10 and Galatians 3).
We have been commanded and called by God to preach and teach His message to the world (Matthew 28). This will bring others to Christ and they in turn will bring more to Christ. The circle of influence and the loudness of God’s message grows with every soul who obeys God’s message.
This is not an optional mission or purpose. Preaching and teaching is how we serve as ambassadors, how we defend God, and how we fight for our own faith. Once we’ve decided to give our lives to Christ we have two main purposes – obeying and pleasing God and bringing others to Him.
One of Paul’s last reminders to Timothy is in his final letter before his execution was this: Preach the word, Timothy! Be ready in season and out of season to reprove, rebuke, and encourage others! And do this with complete patience Timothy because not everyone will want to hear it or like what you have to say. But do your work and fulfill your calling! (2 Timothy 4).
Paul was days away from being executed for the very action he was reminding Timothy to dedicate his life to. Timothy reads this letter maybe even after Paul’s death. The last thing Paul told him – no matter what happens preach God’s word and fulfill your purpose.
So many people believe in God in some way and they even believe that the Bible is either from God or should at least highly influence their living and many many many people own at least one Bible yet even with all these realities much of the world does not use the Bible to hear God’s message. So, it is our responsibility to provide the audio book of the Bible. We are to preach and teach the word of God – whenever it is easy and whenever it is hard.
Fulfill your life’s calling. Dedicate your life to your true mission – Preach the Word of God! We are God’s voice here on earth – much of the world won’t hear His call unless we vocalize it. So, no matter what – tell people about Jesus. Share your faith because faith comes by hearing the Word of God! #CreatedForMore #APurposeDrivenLife
