Messiah. The Christ. The chosen one. The promised prince. The hope for the future.
Daniel promised that one day God would send the messiah to save the Israelites. He would bring an end to sacrificing of animals. He would be cut off from society. He would be desolate. He would pour Himself out for the people. Yet, His actions would restore true worship and rebuild Jerusalem.
It would take centuries for God to fulfill the promise He gave through Daniel.
When Andrew found Jesus the first thing He did was run and tell his brother Peter “Come! I have found the Messiah!” (John 1).
When the Samaritan woman talked with Jesus she told Him “I know the Messiah will come and He will explain everything (John 4)!”
When Jesus asked who the disciples thought Jesus actually was Peter declared “You are the Christ! The Son of the living God (Matthew 16)!”
Jesus confirmed this truth. He told the Samaritan women I am who you seek (John 4). He told Peter thst because of His true confession He would be given the keys to the kingdom (Matthew 16). When Jesus read from the scroll of Isaiah (Isaiah 61) at the synagogue which declared the coming of the Messiah, Jesus completed the reading and said “This Scripture has been fulfill in your hearing (Luke 4).”
Jesus left no doubt. He was the Messiah. God’s chosen one. His anointed prince sent to carry out God’s mission of salvation.
There is no reason to look for salvation from anyone else. Jesus was sent and served as God’s Messiah. He came and died to save the world from its sins. And when He died on the cross Jesus declared “It is finished!” He had done what the Messiah was sent to do. Live a perfect life. Proclaim God’s message. Die for the sins of the world. Provide a pathway of restoration back to God.
Stop searching for salvation from others. Stop believing the lies of the Devil. There is one Messiah and Jesus declared: I am He.
