The Image of Invisible God

Throughout the history of humanity, people have asked to “see God.” Even Moses asked to see God (Exodus 33). And while God showed us He exist in many ways – creation, prophets, miracles, speaking through angels, visions, and His voice speaking directly to some – no one has truly seen God (1 John 4 and John 1).

And while we will not see God until we begin our new lives with Him in heaven, God did give us as close to an image of Him as we could handle – Jesus.

Jesus left heaven and became a man to live as one of us. In that act, God gave us an image of Himself as a human. Jesus’ human life provides the image of God. Imagine the people who interacted with God on earth especially those who believed Him. Think of Jesus’ interactions with people. He encountered every situation we would face yet handled them perfectly. Jesus’ life shows us how God would live as a human and how God expects to live as well.

Jesus says “Whoever has seen me, has seen the Father (John 14:9).”

We see God through Jesus. He is the image of God in human form.

God did not ask us to believe, obey, and serve Him blindly. He has given us evidence through the history of the world that He exists and even with all that evidence He still sent Jesus not only to save our souls but to provide us the perfect image of Himseld on earth so no man would be left with an excuse.

No one can claim there is no God.
No one can claim God expectations too onerous.

Why? Because Jesus lived and provide us with the perfect image of invisible Jehovah.

“He is the image of the invisible God… (Colossians 1:15)”
