Bright & Morning Star

Before there was GPS and satellite and even fancy maps, sailors navigated using the stars. The morning star was using as a direction marker and guide. Technically it is an astronomical occurrence when a star (or planet) rises and becomes visible over the eastern horizon before sunrise hence the name morning star.

The Apostle John records Jesus calling Himself our morning star in Revelation. “I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (Rev. 22:16) It is one of last name associated with Jesus and one of His very last recorded statements in thr Scriptures. I am the Bright and Morning Star.

Jesus is directional marker. We won’t get lost and turned around if we keep our eyes fixed on Him. He is brighter than all other stars so you don’t get confused when you look for Him. He is unique – not other star is like Him so you won’t mistake Him for another lesser star. He is our guide back to God.

If you feel lost and aimless then look to the Bright and Morning Star. Jesus will get you back on track and He will guide you home.

“I am the Bright and Morning Star.” 🌟
