The One Who Does Not Change

Today is the Lord’s Day!

Why do we worship Jehovah!?

Because in this life everything is constantly changing. Our lives are full of chaos and change no matter how hard we work to avoid them. Nothing ever seems to stay consisntent. Cultures change. Interest rates change. Jobs change. Neighborhoods change. Churches change. Families change. Politics change. Values change. Age changes. Bodies change. Relationships change. Health changes. And on and on the list goes. We get tired of all that change which is why we work so hard to keep some things the same. We like traditions because they provide some sense of stability and security. But even they change.

There is only one place we can find perfect steadiness. God. God remains the same. He is consistent in His love, mercy, forgiveness, justice, and expectations. We never have to worry about God changing. He will always be the same.

♾️ “For I am Jehovah, I do not change.” Malachi 3:6

There are only a few certainties in this life. The winds of chaos will beat against your door and the waves of change will crash against your ship. And, you will never been able to hold them back. Nothing you can do will stop change from happening. Nothing.

BUT if you can keep you eyes fixed on Jesus – the chaos of this life won’t matter. Because while everything in this life changes, God remains the same. His love, mercy, and forgiveness are always there. His word and expectations and laws abide forever. We never have to wonder what is expected of us. So while the world is constantly changing its rules and expectations and values, God’s remain the same.

Only God can serve as our anchor in the waves and storms of life’s change and chaos. And, only Jesus is our bright and morning star. He is the one who steadily guides us through this hectic life. Without Jehovah, we will get lost at sea and our live’s boat will sink.

Praise be to Jehovah the Alpha and Omega – The Beginning and the End. The One who CANNOT CHANGE.
