Spiritual Blessing: Jesus Christ

Today is Thanksgiving and people across this country will be gathering to celebrate family and friends. People will be thinking about all the different people and things in their life they are grateful for – a practice by the way we should try to do every day not just once a year. Yet many of those lists and thoughts will focus on earthly and physical blessings. And yes it is very good to be thankful for all we have. But those blessings just scratch the surface of all that God has done for us and has given us. This month to help focus our minds on our spiritual blessings we’ve been reading through the book of Ephesians to more closely examine those blessings.

So far we studied the blessings of

❤️ Being chosen
❤️ Predestination
❤️ Adoption
❤️ Purpose
❤️ Grace
❤️ Redemption
❤️ Forgiveness
❤️ Being Lavished
❤️ God’s revealed will
❤️ Inheritance
❤️ Truth
❤️ Sealed
❤️ Mercy
❤️ Love
❤️ Resurrection
❤️ Seated Together
❤️ Workmanship
❤️ Nearness

This are just a small list of the spiritual blessings God bestows on us. Yet when you read through Ephesians each of these blessings require two things: God’s love/generosity AND Jesus’ sacrifice.

So, today while you are thinking about all the blessings you have in this life be sure to put Jesus at the top of your list.

It is through Jesus and His willingness to die for us that we

❤️ can be chosen by God.
❤️ have a predestinated fate.
❤️ can be adopted sons and daughters of God.
❤️ have a purpose.
❤️ have access to God’s Grace.
❤️ can gain redemption.
❤️ are forgiven.
❤️ are lavished with God’s blessings.
❤️ have all of God’s revealed will.
❤️ have entrance into our eternal inheritance.
❤️ see and have the Truth.
❤️ are sealed.
❤️ gain God’s everlasting mercy.
❤️ see God’s eternal love.
❤️ will be resurrected.
❤️ will be seated together in heaven.
❤️ become God’s Workmanship.
❤️ draw near to God.

Thanks be to God our father who sent His only son Jesus to this world to die for our sins.

Thanks be to Jesus Christ – our Savior and Messiah – who provides us access to God’s redemptive blessings!!
