As kids one of our greatest fears is to have to sit alone at the cafeteria table. We want to be welcomed to a friend grow and not isolated and alone. But we soon realize that even when sitting with people we can still feel alone. So many of us either sat alone because we weren’t welcome to a friend group or while sitting with others still felt alone because we were just sitting there to not have to sit alone like those other people. None of us like to feel alone, isolated, misunderstand, unseen, or ignored.
But I’m here to tell you that in Christ you never have to be alone again! Paul tells us that those who are raised up with Christ’s death are seated together with Him in the heavenly places. God will never ignore you. He will never isolate you. You will always been seen. You will always have a sit at God’s table with Jesus if you obey Him. Imagine sitting next Jesus in the heavenly places. You’ll never have to eat. No. You’ll be seated with the “coolest” kid in all the universe. Jesus Christ – the son of the Living God. And while you’re sitting with Him. He will understand you. He will listen to you. He will see you. You’ll never feel alone in His presence.
God has prepared His table and He has invited you to sit at it WITH Him. He has done this in the face of His and your advesaries and enemies. He wants them to see you sitting with HIM at HIS table. (Psalm 23).
And the best (as if it could get any better) thing about God’s table is it has unlimited seating but every seat is also right next to Jesus. Amazing. No one will be turned away and every one will sit right next to Jesus.
God had extended the invitation to the world and directly to you. You are invited to sit next to Jesus at Jehovah’s table. How do you accept that invitation? You take on the Lord’s death in baptism. Kill your sinful self and rise with the Lord to live for the Lord.
Don’t miss out on the greatest invitation you’ve ever been given.
