Have you ever been given something you simply did t deserve or earn. Some just decided to give you favor or preference for no other reason but kindness? It is a humbling and motivating experience. We are humbled by the unearned favor and motivated to pay it forward to others.
We often define grace as “unmerited or underserved favor.” Grace is one of the foundational characteristics or traits of God.The Scriptures from start to end link God and grace.
❤️ God sits upon the Throne of grace (Hebrews 4)
❤️ God is compassionate and gracious (Psalm 103)
❤️ God is the source of all grace (1 Peter 5)
❤️ God is full of grace (John 1)
It is God’s grace that built the bridge connecting us back to Him. It is God’s grace that motivated Him to send Jesus to save our souls even when we were and are His enemy. We did nothing to deserve God’s favor. He gave it to us freely. He gives it to us continually.
God’s grace’s actively works in our lives to help make us better.
❤️ It is by the grace of God I am who I am today (1 Corinthians 15)
❤️ God’s grace worked through the Apostles and those who profess His name (Acts 4)
❤️ God’s grace is with us every day (Revelation 22/ Romans 17)
❤️ Helps us overcome our weaknesses (II Corinthians 12)
❤️ Provides us with perpetual encouragement (II Thess. 2)
Because God has freely given us unmerited favor and preference we must be good stewards of His grace (I Peter 4) and rooted our lives in grace so others can see God living in us.
It is because of God’s grace we no longer live under the Old law but live under the law of grace created by the death of Jesus.
Grace is the very foundation of our salvation. Without God’s grace we would have and be nothing.
Let God’s grace motivate you to reconciling your life with Him. Let God’s grace toward you motivate you to be gracious toward others. Let God’s grace work in you so others see God living in you.
Praise be to Jehovah – our eternally gracious God!
