Today is the Lord’s Day.
Why do we worship God and His Jesus?
Because His Father, Jehovah, is a just God. He will not overlook any sin. But He is also full of perfected mercy and grace. So, He sent His son to live a life of perfect grace and mercy and to die for our sins. Jesus died because you and I sin. He died so that when we stand before His Father the perfect judge – we don’t have to stand alone. Jesus stands with us. He advocates and defends us to His Father. He appeals to God’s mercy, love, and forgiveness for us. He reminds God of His plan of Salvation that He died for those who come to Him so He could bring the to the Father. And why does God listen to Him? Jesus stands before God in his blood stained robes. “I died for this one Father. He gave his life back to me so I could deliver His soul to you.” Jesus stands before God as the Righteous One. Only He has true standing before the Throne of God. Only He can intercede for you. Only He can appeal through God’s justice because He is the one who appeased it. He died for me. I didn’t have to. So, Jesus stands before Jehovah God and pleads my case. He claims me as His and defends my soul.
Only Jesus does this. Only Jesus can be your advocate because only Jesus died for your sins. And, only His blood will appease God’s justice.
No one will escape standing before the judgment seat of God. We will all answer for our decisions and the life we lead. But only those who give their lives back to Jesus – will Jesus personally defend before His Father’s judgment seat.
Don’t stand before God’s throne alone. Give your life back to Jesus. Let Him be the defender of your soul.
