There are lots of folks who approach serving God with the mentality “they liked to have their cake and to eat it too.” They want to say the love and obey God but only the parts and commandments they like or agree with – the rest they throw out to the birds. They try to walk a middle road with God. His terms and theirs. It will not work.
But here is no middle ground with God. You either believe in Him and keep all of His commandments or you do not you are a liar. John tells us liars will have their part in the second death and in the pit of fire.
So – either serve God or don’t. Don’t say you do and then don’t. You are only fooling yourself and the folks around you. But to God – you are a liar.
So bust out your squeegee, window cleaner, and defoggers. Clean the mirror of all the excuses and justifications and lies you tell yourself about why you don’t follow God’s commandments because God already sees through the fog of lies. So, might as well start being honest with yourself too and make the changes you know you need to make.
