For many of those trying to live a godly and righteous life, the worlds continued downward spiral is upsetting. Evil seems to continue to spread its influence and there appears to be fewer people who will stand up for righteousness. If one dwells in rise of wickedness, it can become quite depressing. Many worry about the future. Many worry for their families. Many worth about what will happen to the godly.
Solomn tells us not to let minds fret over the evildoer and the rise of wickedness. He also tells us not to be envious of their apparent wealth, power, influence, and success. I’d like to focus on the first part. Don’t fret yourself over evildoers.
Jesus tells us not to worry and many times we focus that statement on our material needs. But here Solomon helps us understand Jesus isn’t just talking about worrying for your physical needs. He also means do not worry about evildoers. Don’t fret over what they are doing in the world. Don’t wrong your hands in fear over what is going to happen because of their growing influence and power. Why? Well, Solomon and Jesus tell us why.
🛑 Worrying accomplishes nothing.
🛑 Anxiety is bad for the body, mind, and soul.
🛑 Fretting demonstrates a lack of trust in God.
🛑 God will judge and punish the wicked.
I can just hear Solomon asking, “why are you worrying over the wicked? Do you not trust that God will take care of it? Don’t you understand the ungodly have no real future? Can’t you see that GOD will one day put out there lamps?”
While the wicked’s light – their power and influence – may shine temporarily, the only light that endures forever is God. And He will put out all other lights that have attempted to compete with Him; that have worked to confuse people with their false lights; and that have claimed to be the real source of light. God will destroy all their lamps. He will put them out. We’ve got to trust thet God will do what He says.
Now, that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard to live in a wicked world. It doesn’t mean it isn’t concerning the growth of evil’s power and influence. But Solomon would tell you. There is nothing new under the sun. The world has always been wicked since sin came. There have and will always be evildoers.

So instead of using your energy (physical and mental) fretting over them, trust what God says. Use your energy to save those confused by the evildoers’ false lights. Control your thoughts and think of positive and good things.
Do you trust God enough to let Him handle the fate of the wicked? If you do, then stop worrying about them and start using your time and energy to save as many people as possible from Satan as you can.
