The Wind vs. The Mountain

If you’ve ever been high up in the mountains, you’ll know that the wind can get pretty intense and swirly. I’ve nearly lost my cap multiple times. The wind just beats and beats against the mountain and yet the mountain remains unmoved. Now the trees or the snow or the dirt, the wind has it’s way with – cause them to move or slide or break or fall. Yet, no matter how hard it swirls the mountain remains.

Solomon teaches us that God is our mountain. Nothing that beats against Him will cause Him to change. Nothing can assail against God. And Solomon gets specific with the type of assailant he is referring to in this proverb. Man is the wind that blows and blows against God’s mountain. Man this his wisdom, his counsel, and his understanding is better, wiser, smarter, and more applicable than God’s. But nothing man comes up with is better or stronger than God.

So when you are deciding who to trust and who to go to for counsel. Be sure to go to the Rock – God’s mountain. Nothing will ever destroy it. Nothing will ever be safer than it. Nothing will ever be more clever. Nothing will ever be wiser. You’ll never find a wiser and more satisfying answer than the answer and wisdom God gives you.

And lately, lots of folks think they’re smart than God. They claim His teachings are out of date. They know more people and earth and life after death than God. Remember, Paul teaches us the foolish is God is smarter than man’s wisdom. So all they’re wisdom is rubbish compared to God’s. And no attempt to silence Him or our smart Him will ever work.

There is nothing man can do or think that can successfully assail against God.

Go to the Rock. It never moves.
