Today is the Lord’s Day.
There are so many reasons we worship Jehovah – the creator of the universes and the source of our Salvation.
Solomon tells us one of the reasons we worship God. God is omniscient. Nothing is hidden from the eyes of God. Solomon teaches us that not even Sheol (Death) and Abaddon (Destruction/ The Great Abyss) have secrets from God. Everything about them – Death and Destruction – God knows. They have no secrets. They cannot surprise God. They instead answer to God.
Solomon says if Death and Destruction have mo secrets before God – how much MORE than the hearts of man. Nothing we do or think is a secret to God. Our hearts lie open and exposed to Jehovah. He knows everything about us. Nothing we do surprises Him. Nothing we do can be hidden from His eyes.
Since this is true, we worship the God who made us and who knows everything about us. We cannnot hide from God. So, instead of attempting to hide from Him it is better to worship and honor God. How often do we say to ourselves “I wish people knew the real me” or “no one would love me if they knew…” Thise who worship God have no need to say that because God knows us, He sees us, and still loves us.
Nothing and no one is hidden from God. While that should be sobering, it is also a comforting truth about God for those who worship Him. We are seen by God. We are known by God. And, this is one of the many reasons we worship and honor Jehovah.
