We hear sayings all the time like “trust your feelings” and hey I’m one of the biggest Star Wars fan you’ll find but the idea that you can look inside yourself to find the right path or the truth is just folly.
Our heart deceives us all the time. We want what we want so we will justify it to ourselves in lots of different ways – most of the time we will wrap our reasons in blankets of altruism and benevolence. Or tell ourselves: it’s not that bad or everyone else is don’t it or God surely won’t mind this little thing. Those are all lies we tell ourselves to do what we want.
Solomon warns us against that:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
Are you looking for the right path? Has your way just not worked out the way you hoped? Do you feel tired of always justifying your actions? Are you tired of feeling lost?
Then, give your heart completely to God. Don’t trust yourself to find the way and don’t think your smarter or wiser than the God who made you. Instead, give your life to Him. He will show you the right path and you will feel the refreshing nature of God’s wisdom and care all the way to down to your bones.

Great thoughts
With God’s wisdom we can see that Satan is behind our selfish thoughts.

Amen, Autumn. God’s truth about living is the antithesis of what our culture shows and tells us daily.
Satan leads man down the wide path by telling us to do what we believe is right for us.
God leads man down the narrow path by telling us to NEVER trust in our own thinking.
“I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.”
